LIBRARY

The NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY has a partnership with Lynda.com to offer free classes to anyone with a NYPL library card. You can access a wide range of classes, from how to use the Adobe Suite, to color grading in DaVinci Resolve, and many other programs useful to filmmakers.

FREELANCER HOURLY WAGE CALCULATOR

THE FILMMAKER'S PRODUCTION BIBLE has created this simple and free to use calculator page to help double check your freelancer hours for payroll.

You can enter either a single day's work, or a weekly amount of work, as well as accounting for any overtime fees, kit rentals, other allowances, and even meal penalties.

​

*Please note that this calculator applies only for Non-Union work, and assumes a base-day as only 8 Hours. You may have to adjust gig-to-gig.

A filmmaking group that meets up on Saturdays to work on whatever stage of short film development they're currently involved with.

Professionals and Hobbyists welcome, it's a laid back group that is committed to strengthening their skills as filmmakers.

Cine NYC: 20s Film Club

This club is hosted by Cine NYC and is for people between the ages of 20-30. Sometimes it's hosted out of their own space and other times its at local theaters.

There's weekly meetups to watch movies and afterwards they go out for drinks.

An online screenwriting workshop that invites guest speakers and creates a space for screenwriters to learn through guided writing exercises and conversation.
